Event Design App saves your work when you select Save and the button returns from Saving, or automatically about 60 seconds after your latest edit; another edit restarts that countdown. Work is safe once the editor says Saved or Autosaved. Leave with Back to project, and never refresh while a change may be unsaved. This applies to all accounts.
Nothing is more frustrating than an hour of layout work vanishing because a tab closed at the wrong moment. The rule is simple: work is safe when the editor says it is saved, not when you stop clicking. This article shows what to watch for.

The toolbar has the same Undo and Redo buttons. This works for deletes too: delete a chair, confirm the one item will be removed prompt, then press Undo to bring it back.
Two related habits:
Duplicates start on top of the original. Hold Shift and drag the move handle to copy. Separate the two and check the original stayed put — otherwise you may leave a hidden extra object behind.
Escape cancels a pending placement. When you choose a catalog item, a Ready to place banner appears. Press Escape and the banner disappears with nothing added.

Select Save to store your plan (layout). The button changes to Saving; wait until it returns to Save. The important moment is completion, not the click. A Saved confirmation appears when the write succeeds.
Saving keeps object positions, rotations, scales, textures and colors, walls, floor-plan images and the background.

The editor also saves for you, but not immediately. Autosave waits about 60 seconds after your latest change, and another edit restarts that countdown. Keep editing and it may never fire. A toast reading Autosaved confirms it ran; Autosave failed means it did not.
⚠ If you need to leave in under a minute, click Save and wait for it to finish. Don't count on autosave.
To leave the editor safely, use Back to project rather than closing the tab. The editor shows Saving your changes while it closes safely; wait for the project page to appear.
⚠ If saving fails, stays pending, or shows a recovery prompt, stay in the editor. Read the message and use the recovery action offered. Don't refresh while the only copy of your latest change may be unsaved — a refresh reloads the last saved version, and anything newer is gone.
Before you export or share, reopen the plan from its project and check against what you built:
Finishes — colors and linens (tablecloths) still applied.
Positions — objects where you left them.
Groups — a generated table should still select as one set (for example, a table plus four chairs).
Walls, floor-plan image and your view, if the plan uses them.
💡 Make one recognizable change before each save (a blue tablecloth, a gold chair). When you reopen, those checkpoints prove the save went through.
View-only sessions (you'll see a View only label) and guest sessions have limited saving. If your changes aren't sticking, check that label first.
My last change is missing after I reopened the plan. It was made less than about 60 seconds before you left and never saved. Next time, click Save and wait for it to return from Saving.
Autosave seems to do nothing. It restarts its 60-second timer on every edit. Pause for a minute and watch for the Autosaved toast, or save manually.
The page says it's saving and won't finish. Stay put. Check your connection, read any message, and use the recovery action offered. Refreshing risks the unsaved change.
I see "Save failed". Keep the tab open, check your connection, and try Save again.
