Event Design App exports a plan (layout) three ways from the Export menu: Export PDF makes a branded document with an item inventory, Export PNG downloads a still picture of the canvas, and Export Video records a WebM walkthrough along a saved camera path. Save first, then open the downloaded file to check it before sending it on. The logo on the PDF comes from the company profile, which is set in the Company Dashboard on company accounts.
A client wants to see the room. A vendor wants the item counts. Your team wants a walkthrough. The Export menu in the editor makes all three, and each works differently, so each has its own section below.
First, for all three: select Save and wait for the saved state. Exports capture what the editor shows now, and a file can download successfully and still need correcting, so always open the file you get before sending it on.
Export | Best for | Needs |
|---|---|---|
Export PDF | Branded proposal with item inventory | Company name and logo |
Export PNG | A single clean image | A deliberate camera view |
Export Video | Walkthrough of a route | A saved camera path |

📺 Export a Branded PDF with Inventory — about checking pages and inventory.
PDF branding comes from your company profile (company accounts). In Company Dashboard, the Profile section holds the company name and logo. The logo field is the one used on PDF exports. Set them before you export.
Save, then choose Export PDF. Generation starts right away; there is no options dialog. The header shows Exporting PDF while the file is prepared.
Wait for it to finish, then open the downloaded document.
What you get: a cover with the overhead layout, entrance and logo, followed by inventory pages with product names, descriptions and quantities. A small example (four round tables, a tent, and a dance floor) produced three pages: a cover and two inventory pages, totaling 192 items across 8 categories for 20 guests.
Check the cover title. A long plan title can overlap the company name. The fix is in the source: open the plan's actions menu on the project page, choose Edit, shorten the title (for instance to "Academy Layout"), save, then export again. Don't edit the downloaded file by hand.
Check inventory against the scene. The count includes accessories, not just furniture. In the four-table example plan:
4 round tables and 20 chairs (5 per table);
place settings listed separately: knives, forks, spoons, linens and glasses;
4 floral centerpieces, 20 dessert plates, 1 tent;
19 portable dance floor units — 16 under the venue and 3 in the entrance extension.
⚠ "Total items" is not the number of furniture pieces. It counts every accessory too. If a quantity looks off, compare it with the saved scene and its table settings before you assume the PDF is wrong.
Scan every page for missing rows, clipped descriptions and awkward page breaks. If branding is missing or wrong, fix it in the company or account configuration, then export again.
📺 Export a Clean Plan Image as PNG — framing, lighting and checking edges.
A good PNG still (picture) starts with a deliberate view.
Pick the view. Perspective shows the experience around a table. Overhead shows seating and entrance.
Reveal the layout. In overhead view, a roof hides the interior; use Slice Above 2 m to cut it away.
Frame everything. Zoom out and pan so the whole footprint, venue boundary and entrance are inside, with a little space around the end of any extension. A tight first view often cuts the floor edge.
Hide the grid and check lighting. In the lesson's example plan, Studio blew out the white floor; Sunset kept contrast in the red tablecloths. Pale chairs on a pale floor are the usual casualty.
Clear the selection. Press Escape and confirm the transform handles are gone and the Properties panel says No object selected.
Save, then choose Export PNG.
The browser downloads an image of the canvas only, without the Catalog or Properties panels. Rename your retained copy ("Reception – overhead") if you keep several views.
⚠ Zooming into the PNG doesn't add detail. The lesson's example file was 1344 × 785 pixels; your size depends on your window. Check the dimensions suit where you'll use it, and if details are hard to read, look at lighting and camera distance separately.

📺 Export a Camera-Path Video as WebM — recording and checking the file.
Export Video appears only when the plan has a usable camera path (a saved sequence of camera points that the recording flies through). If it's missing, create or fix the path first.
Save, then preview the full route, entrance to final view. Fix pacing, framing, point positions and heights now; you can't edit the recording.
Choose Export → Export Video. Recording starts immediately. The header changes to Exporting Video and playback runs along the path.
Choose it once, then leave the scene and camera alone until the normal Export control returns and the browser downloads the WebM file.
The file is WebM, not MP4. The 3-table example ran about 4.5 seconds, so length follows your path.
Review the file at the start, middle and end. Check that no section is missing and the final view isn't cut off. The small orientation helper stays visible in the export. Dimensions come from your editor window, not from the lesson video.
Export Video isn't in my menu. There's no usable camera path. Create one and make sure it plays.
My video is incomplete. Recording didn't finish, or you moved the scene while it ran. Compare with the path preview and export again.
My PDF cover text overlaps the company name. The plan title is too long. Shorten it from the plan's Edit action and re-export.
My logo isn't on the PDF. Add it in Company Dashboard → Profile, then export again.
The PDF item count is higher than my furniture count. It includes accessories such as flatware and linens.
My PNG has the edge of the floor cut off. Zoom out and pan before exporting; the whole footprint must be inside the frame.
My PNG shows handles or a selection. You didn't clear the selection. Press Escape first.
I can't save my video as MP4. The export is WebM only.
Video exports as WebM, not MP4. Recording starts immediately when you choose Export, then Export Video, and playback runs along your saved camera path. The length follows your path; a three-table example ran about 4.5 seconds. Leave the scene and camera alone until the download finishes.
Export Video appears only when the plan has a usable camera path that can play. If the option is missing, create or fix the camera path, then preview the full route from entrance to final view and make sure it plays. The option then appears under Export.
A long plan title can overlap the company name on the PDF cover. Open the plan's actions menu on the project page, choose Edit, shorten the title (for example to "Academy Layout"), save, and export again. Do not edit the downloaded file by hand.
PDF branding comes from your company profile (company accounts). Open Company Dashboard, go to the Profile section, and add the company name and logo; the logo field is the one used on PDF exports. Then export again, because an existing file will not update itself.
The total counts every accessory, not just furniture. In the four-table example, 192 items across 8 categories included 20 chairs plus knives, forks, spoons, linens, glasses, centerpieces and dessert plates. Compare any quantity that looks off with the saved scene and its table settings.
The PNG shows exactly what the canvas shows. Press Escape first so transform handles vanish and Properties says No object selected, and zoom out and pan so the whole footprint, venue boundary and entrance sit inside the frame. Hide the grid, then choose Export PNG again.
