In Event Design App, a plan is one layout (floor plan or seating chart) for an event, and it lives inside a project. To create one, open the project, select Create First Plan or New Plan, enter a plan title, and select Create. The editor opens immediately on an empty grid, ready for items (models) from the Catalog. This applies to all accounts.
One event often needs several layouts: the ceremony, the reception, the rain plan, version two after the client's changes. Each of those is a plan, and each lives inside a project. Naming them well on day one saves a lot of "which one was the final?" later.

You create a plan from inside the project that will hold it.
Open the project and check its name above the Plans heading.
Select Create First Plan (for an empty project) or New Plan (if it already has plans).
Enter the plan title in the title field.
Select Create.
The editor opens straight away on the new plan. Check the title at the top of the editor to be sure you're in the right one.

Choose names that tell plans apart. The project already identifies the event, so the plan name should identify this layout: "Main Hall", "Ceremony – Garden", "Main Hall v2". Plain "Plan 1" and "Plan 2" are indistinguishable at 11 p.m. the night before.
⚠ There is no plan type to choose. The form shows a Sketch Type label but no selector beside it. Name the plan and select Create; don't look for a 2D/3D switch.
A new plan opens as an empty grid. The Catalog (the library of placeable models, such as tables, chairs and decor items) is on the left, the canvas in the center, and Properties on the right. New plans use the units set in your account (feet by default if you haven't changed it).
Select Save and wait for it to say Saved, then use Back to project (the arrow at the top left). The plan now appears as a card in the project's list.

Renaming a plan changes only its title.
On the plan's card, open Plan actions and choose Edit.
Change the title in the Edit Plan dialog.
Select Save Changes.
This renames the existing plan. It does not make a copy, and the layout inside is untouched. Reopen the plan to see the new title in the editor header.
Deleting a plan removes that layout permanently.
⚠ Deleting a plan cannot be undone — and the confirmation doesn't repeat the plan's name. Like projects, the warning replaces the card itself. Look at which card you're on before you open it.
Open Plan actions on the plan and choose Delete.
Read the warning. Wrong plan? Select Cancel, then re-identify the right card.
Select Delete to confirm.
Only the plan goes. The project and its other plans stay exactly where they are. Once a project's last plan is deleted, you can delete the project itself (see Create and manage projects).
💡 Want a safe branch of a finished layout? Save it as a template (see Use plan templates) and load it into a new plan, then experiment there.
To verify changes, refresh the project's plan list. The renamed plan should show its new title and the deleted one should be gone. Back on the dashboard, the project card's plan count should match.
I can't find where to pick 2D or 3D. There's no type choice in the creation form. Name the plan and create it.
The editor opened empty. That's the expected starting state: an empty grid. Add objects from the Catalog.
My new plan isn't on the project page. Save it, then use Back to project. If you left without saving, reopen the plan from the list.
Distances are in the wrong units. New plans take the preferred units from your account settings. Change that setting before creating the next plan.
I deleted the wrong plan. Deletion can't be undone. Next time, compare the card names, and use Cancel whenever you're unsure.
I see "No plans available" instead of "No plans yet", and no create button. Your access to this project is view-only. Ask a project owner for edit access.

An empty grid is the expected starting state. The plan is created without any objects, so you add models (items) from the Catalog on the left. If you want a pre-built starting point instead, save a finished layout as a template and load it into a new plan.

If the project shows No plans available instead of No plans yet, your access to it is view-only. Only people with edit access see Create First Plan and New Plan, so ask a project owner to grant it.
