In Event Design App, a collection saves a selection of objects (items such as panels, chairs or a lounge set) with their relative positions so you can place the whole arrangement into any plan (layout) with one click. Select the objects with Selection Box, open Templates, choose Save Collection, and name it. Place it later from the Collections tab in the left panel. Collections are available to all accounts; on company accounts, what you see follows your workspace.
If you build the same backdrop corner, lounge group or stage package in every plan, you're doing the same work twice. A collection saves a selection of objects, with their relative positions, so you can place the whole arrangement in one click.

Collection or template? A collection saves some objects. A template saves a whole plan (see Use plan templates).
Saving a collection starts with picking exactly the right objects.
Start with an arrangement worth reusing. Decide what belongs in every future copy, and leave temporary props and unrelated neighbors out.
Click the arrangement and read the count in the Properties panel. A single click often grabs only part of it. In the lesson's five-panel backdrop corner, clicking one backdrop run selects two objects when the corner has five.
Clear the partial selection.
Use Selection Box (a drag-to-enclose rectangle that selects everything inside it) to enclose the whole arrangement. In a busy plan, keep nearby furniture outside the rectangle.
Check that Properties now shows the number you expect.
Switch to perspective view, focus the selection, and orbit to check both faces, the corner and the outer ends.
⚠ The right count doesn't prove the right objects. Compare the number with what you can actually see selected.

Open Templates and choose Save Collection.
The Save as Collection dialog repeats the selected count. This is your last check: if it says two and you meant five, cancel, fix the selection, and start again.
Enter a descriptive name, such as "Backdrop Corner, five panels". Add an optional description ("two panels on one side, three on the other, zero-offset corner").
Select Save Collection and let it finish.
The new card appears in the Collections tab of the left panel, with a thumbnail and object count.
To reuse a collection, place it from the left panel.
In the left panel, switch from Catalog to the Collections tab. It shows saved arrangements in your current user and workspace context.
Search by name. If nothing matches, clear the query and check the spelling, then check you're in the same user or workspace where you saved it.
Compare the name, preview and object count before choosing an entry.
Select the card. A Ready to place banner shows its name and object count.
Click once in open canvas space, away from other content, and wait for the models to load. The placed objects are selected.
Press Escape to leave placement mode.
⚠ Press Escape after placing. Until you do, the next click on the canvas places another copy when you only meant to select something.

A placed collection preserves its internal grouping, so it may not select as a single block. Click one panel of the placed corner and Properties may show only two objects, because the source had two separate runs. To grab it all, draw a Selection Box around the full arrangement; it should report all five. Move the selection and confirm both runs travel together without changing their relative positions.
If the placed content is incomplete, the saved collection is incomplete. Fix the source arrangement and save a replacement.
Delete is on the collection card. Read the confirmation and check the name — similar previews look alike. Wrong entry? Choose Cancel; the entry and your placed objects are untouched.
⚠ Deleting a collection removes only the library entry. Objects you already placed in a plan stay in the plan. They are separate actions, and the reverse is true too: deleting objects from a plan doesn't remove the saved collection.
Finish by saving the plan, reopening it, and confirming the corner is intact and the collection list is what you expect.
Save as Collection says two objects and I wanted five. Your selection is partial. Cancel, clear it, and use Selection Box around everything.
I can't find my collection. Clear the search, then check you're in the same user or workspace context where it was saved.
Placing it added extra copies. You stayed in placement mode. Press Escape after the first placement.
