Generate a venue from a photo

Turn a photo of your venue into a reusable 3D room (turn a picture of a room into a 3D model), then align it with your furniture in any plan.

Plus and Pro plans only. Generate Venue in Event Design App turns a photo of a room, such as a ballroom, hall or tent interior, into a reusable 3D venue you can load into any plan and design inside. It accepts a single photo, multiple views or a 360-degree panorama, and spends credits. Your furniture stays put while you align it.

You have a photo of the ballroom you book every spring, and you'd like to design inside it instead of an empty gray box. Generate Venue turns your photos into a reusable 3D environment you can load into any plan.

This is a different tool from Use AI Image to 3D, which makes a single catalog object. Generate Venue makes the room itself.

📺 Four short lessons: Start Venue Generation from Single, Multi-View, or Panorama Sources, Use Venue Suggestions and the One Cleanup Revision, Generate a Venue and Track Its Progress and Preview, Save, Attach, Replace, and Transform a Generated Venue.

What do I need before I generate a venue?

Generate Venue needs a Plus or Pro plan (in a company, it also needs company settings that allow it) and spends credits. Every model costs the same number of credits, which the screen shows on each model choice and on the Generate Venue button. Costs can change, so read the number on screen before you click.

You can open the venue library without generating anything. Load Venue (the venue library) shows the public venues and any in your own or your company's library.

1. Which input mode should I use to generate a venue?

Open Generate Venue from the editor. Choose how you'll supply the room.

Mode

What it needs

Use it when

Single photo

One clear photo

You have an ordinary photograph of the room. Most people start here.

Multi-view

Front and back views required; right and left optional

You have photos from several sides of the same room, arranged consistently.

Panorama

One equirectangular image, exactly 2:1 (width twice the height)

You have a real 360° panorama.

⚠ A wide photo isn't a panorama. Panorama mode checks the 2:1 dimensions and the left-right seam. An ordinary wide photo will be rejected. For a normal hall photo, use Single photo.

In Multi-view, each view maps to a fixed direction (front 0°, right 90°, back 180°, left 270°), and all views must show the same room.

2. What photo works best for Generate Venue?

For Generate Venue, use a sharp, well-lit image with the architecture visible: walls, doors, ceiling and an open floor. An empty room works best.

File requirements: JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MiB each and 40 MiB in total. Each image must be at least 512 px and no larger than 8192 px on its long side. The upload removes EXIF and GPS data. Still look at the image for anything you don't want included, and use only photos you have permission to use.

Select the file, check the preview, then click Continue with photo. Wait for the upload to finish. Your original appears in the preparation step.

If an upload is rejected, compare the file with the requirements for the mode you chose. For Multi-view, check that the required directions are present and agree on the room.

3. How to remove people and clutter from a venue photo

If movable items clutter the photo, You get one included cleanup request per run. Use it to remove temporary things such as people, loose cables or uplighting.

  1. Read the automatic suggestions. They're a starting point, not a to-do list.

  2. Pick a suggestion, then write a focused Cleanup prompt. Name what to remove and what to preserve: doors, mirrors, panels, chandeliers, ceiling, floor, room proportions and camera angle.

  3. Click Create cleaned revision once and wait.

  4. Compare the Original venue input with the Cleaned venue input, and check more than the area you targeted. In the lesson, the hall stayed recognizable but the floor and lighting changed, and the uplighting was still visible.

  5. Choose Use cleaned set or Use original set.

⚠ Cleanup completing doesn't mean it worked. It's a limited edit, not a guarantee. Keep the original if the cleaned one drifts from the real room.

After you use the request, the button reads Cleanup request used and is unavailable. You can continue with the original or start a new run.

4. How to generate the venue

To generate:

  1. Pick a model. Names change, so read the choices on your screen. In the lesson we chose G-Venue 1.1 Plus; others include G-Venue 1.0 Draft and G-Venue 1.1.

  2. Enter a Venue name you'll recognize, such as Academy Hall, Single Photo Plus. It's required.

  3. Check the model, the name and the credit cost, then click Generate Venue once.

A progress screen shows the stage (source images being prepared and uploaded, and so on) with a percentage. That tells you a request is running. It doesn't mean the venue is ready.

⚠ Cancel and failure refunds. The generation settings say Failed or cancelled generation attempts are refunded automatically., and the progress screen offers Cancel generation · refund credits. If you see a failure or cancellation, read the final message and confirm the adjustment in your credit history before retrying. A venue that completes isn't refunded.

Can I close the window while a venue generates?

Yes. The progress screen says Safe to close. Generation continues in the background. To come back to it, reopen Generate Venue from the same project: it picks up your unfinished run. Note the venue name you chose so you can recognize it.

You can only run one generation at a time, so wait for it to finish before starting another.

5. How to preview and save a generated venue

When generation finishes, you land on a preview. Check the venue name, then click Save Venue. Saving is required: the venue is added to your reusable venue library, marked User next to the public ones, only after you save it. Once it's saved, you can reuse it in any plan.

6. How to use a generated venue in a plan

To use the venue:

  1. Open the plan. Check what's in it first. The lesson's plan had a table and four chairs that select together as five objects.

  2. Open Load Venue, find the venue by name and thumbnail, and choose Use in this plan.

  3. If the plan already has a venue, you'll be asked to confirm replacing it: Replace only its environment? Furniture, groups and camera will remain unchanged. Read it and confirm.

  4. Let it load, then set an interior camera view and look around from inside.

Compare the generated room with your source photo: doors, mirrored panels, chandeliers, ceiling and floor. Look hard at blurred or irregular areas. The room is a generated image and won't match every detail.

7. How to align a venue with your furniture

Unlock the venue to show its own toolbar. These controls move the room, not your furniture.

  • Move: drag an axis handle. The walls and floor shift while your table and chairs stay put.

  • Rotate: use the rotation ring to turn the room until the doors and walls face the right way.

  • Scale: use a supported handle for small adjustments, then compare the room with your tables and door openings.

Make small changes and check from inside. If something looks wrong, correct the venue before touching the furniture. When it's right, Lock the venue. The toolbar and handles disappear, and selecting your table still picks up the same five objects.

Save the plan, close it and reopen it. Check that the venue is attached, your alignment is kept, and the furniture group is intact.

⚠ The library entry and the plan placement are separate. The venue stays in your library either way. Attaching it, and its alignment, belong to the plan. If attaching is denied in another plan, check your access to both the plan and the venue.

Try it yourself

  1. Choose the input mode that matches your photo.

  2. Upload it and, if needed, run the single cleanup. Keep whichever source is truer.

  3. Pick a model, name the venue, check the cost, and generate once.

  4. When it finishes, check the preview and click Save Venue.

  5. Find it in Load Venue, use it in a plan, align it with Move, Rotate and Scale, then Lock it.

  6. Save, reopen, and check.

Troubleshooting

Generate Venue is unavailable (locked, greyed out, or asks me to upgrade). Your plan or credits don't allow it. The message says which. See Why a feature is locked.

My panorama was rejected. It isn't exactly 2:1, or the left and right edges don't wrap. Use Single photo for an ordinary wide shot.

The upload was rejected. Check format (JPG, PNG, WebP), size (10 MiB each, 40 MiB total), dimensions, and the required views for Multi-view.

The cleaned image changed my room. Choose Use original set. The cleaned version stays available for comparison.

My venue isn’t in Load Venue. A venue is only added after you click Save Venue on the preview. Reopen Generate Venue from the same project to return to the run and save it.

It says a limit was reached. Only one venue can run at a time per person, there's a lower company cap, and a daily limit applies. Wait and try again.

It failed because of the provider's billing or credits. The message says retry isn't available until that's resolved. Contact an administrator. Your credits for the failed attempt are refunded automatically.

My furniture moved when I adjusted the venue. It shouldn't have. Venue controls only move the environment. Make sure the venue toolbar is active, and the venue is unlocked.

Frequently asked questions

How do I turn a photo of my venue into a 3D model?

Open Generate Venue from the editor, choose Single photo, upload a sharp JPG, PNG or WebP image, optionally run the one included cleanup, pick a model, name the venue and click Generate Venue once. When it finishes, check the preview and click Save Venue; the venue then appears in Load Venue, ready to use in any plan. Available on all paid plans (Plus and Pro).

Can I use a normal photo or do I need a 360 panorama?

A normal photo is fine. Single photo mode accepts an ordinary photograph of the room. Panorama mode needs a true equirectangular 360-degree image exactly 2:1 wide to high, and it rejects ordinary wide photos. Multi-view mode needs front and back photos of the same room.

Is there a size limit for venue photos?

Yes. Generate Venue accepts JPG, PNG or WebP images up to 10 MiB each and 40 MiB in total. Each image must be at least 512 pixels and no larger than 8192 pixels on its long side. EXIF and GPS data are removed on upload. Use only photos you have permission to use.

Do I get my credits back if venue generation fails?

Yes. The generation screen states Failed or cancelled generation attempts are refunded automatically., and the progress screen offers Cancel generation · refund credits. A venue that completes is not refunded. Check the final message and your credit history to confirm the adjustment before you retry.

Can I close the window while my venue is generating?

Yes. The progress screen says it is safe to close and generation continues in the background. Reopen Generate Venue from the same project to return to the run, then check the preview and click Save Venue. The venue isn't in Load Venue until you save it. Only one generation can run at a time.

Will moving the venue also move my tables and chairs?

No. The venue toolbar's Move, Rotate and Scale controls only move the room, not your furniture. Unlock the venue to use them, make small adjustments while checking from inside, then Lock it. Your table and chairs stay selectable as the same group.
