Available on all plans for anyone with edit access to the plan. To remove a floor plan or background image (the drawing, blueprint or venue picture behind your layout) in Event Design App, click the trash icon at the end of the bottom toolbar and confirm; to replace one, import or upload the new file. Removal deletes the uploaded file, a replacement floor plan must be calibrated again, and your walls and furniture stay.
The venue sent a revised drawing, or you uploaded the wrong file, or you just want a clean view of what you've built. You can change the reference image without rebuilding anything on top of it. But removal deletes the uploaded file for good, and a replacement does not inherit the old scale. Here is how to do it safely.

Before changing a reference image:
Keep the original image on your computer. Removal deletes the copy stored in the plan.
Save the plan. That gives you a known good starting point.
Note what is yours. Walls and furniture you built are real scene objects. They stay through every step below.
⚠ Removing an image deletes the uploaded file. The confirmation says so. There is no undo in the sense of getting the file back, so only the copy on your computer is safe.
Replacing a floor plan means importing the new image and calibrating it again.
Click the upload icon, then Import Floor Plan, and pick the new image.
Check the preview. Wrong file? Click Replace image to choose another. This is only available during import, before you confirm the scale.
Click Set scale and calibrate again: two endpoints, Real distance, unit. Then click Manual Draw.
Compare the new image with the walls and objects already in the plan.
⚠ A new image does not inherit the old calibration. Scale is stored per image. Even if it looks like the same drawing, calibrate it again. See Import and calibrate a floor plan.
⚠ Existing walls will not move to match. If the revised drawing has shifted or changed size, your old walls will no longer line up. Check alignment and size before you carry on, and repair walls where needed.
Importing a new floor plan while one exists replaces the old image. If you'd rather start clean, remove the old one first.
Choose Upload Background again and pick the new file. The old background is replaced and its file deleted. Backgrounds have no scale to redo. See Upload a background image.
To remove a floor plan or background:
Click the trash icon at the end of the bottom toolbar.
If the plan has both a floor plan and a background, the Remove image window asks which. Choose Remove Floor Plan or Remove Background.
If there is only one, the confirmation opens straight away. Read it. For a floor plan the dialog is titled Remove floor plan? and says the image will be removed from the plan and the uploaded file deleted.
Click Remove Floor Plan or Remove Background to confirm, or Cancel if it isn't the right one.

The trash icon is disabled when there is nothing to remove, and while an import or AI Draw is running.
Removing an image keeps the objects you built.

💡 Printed furniture was never an object. Symbols and labels on a drawing are part of the picture, so they vanish with it. That makes it easy to see exactly what you've modeled. It also means you cannot recover them from the plan.
Yes. Many designers use a floor plan as a guide while placing tables and chairs, then remove it for a clean view or a client render. Keep your original file so you can bring it back for edits.
To bring a removed floor plan back:
Import the original file with Import Floor Plan.
Calibrate it with the same endpoints and distance (the Academy lesson's example is 90 ft).
Click Manual Draw. The image returns behind your existing walls and objects.
Check alignment before you save.
Save the plan, return to the project and reopen it. After it loads, check the image, the walls and the objects. Saving and reopening is the only sure way to know the change stuck, and that the old image does not reappear.
The trash icon is greyed out (disabled). There is no floor plan or background to remove, or an upload is in progress. Wait for it to finish.
I removed the wrong image. The uploaded file is deleted. Import your original from your computer again and recalibrate if it was a floor plan.
My new floor plan is the wrong size. It didn't inherit the old scale. Calibrate it again, with a longer known distance if you can.
My walls don't line up with the new drawing. The new image differs from the old. Move or redraw the walls to match, after checking its scale.
The furniture on my drawing disappeared. It was part of the image, not separate objects. Re-add it from the catalog.
The image is gone but I didn't remove it. Check whether Isolate is on. It hides the floor plan and background until you exit.
The old image came back after reopening. Save after removal. Reopen the plan to confirm.
